Miller Library primarily serves college patrons, however, members of the local community and visitors who have educational or research needs are welcome to use our resources. Learn more by looking over our guidelines below.

Using our resources

Visitors may use our online catalog, browse/read print and microform collection and borrow books as outlined in Circulation Privileges.

To use our eResources, please speak with a librarian who will log you into our guest Internet. Please note that use of the Internet is strictly for educational and research needs. Viewing sexually explicit materials is prohibited.

Access to our eResources is not permitted off site.

Circulation privileges

Members of the community are permitted to check out a limited number of books from our general collection. Magazines, journals, CDs/DVDs/Videos are for use in the library only. Special borrowers categories are listed below.

Community Members

Residents of Kent and northern Queen Anne’s counties; members may check out two books for three weeks; $10 annual fee

The 1782 Society

Members will be issued a borrower’s card and may check out two books for three weeks; no annual fee

Friends of Miller Library

FOML may borrow four books for three weeks; annual fee ranges from $30 to $300 depending on contribution and research levels

Alumni

WC alumni may borrow two books for three weeks; no annual fee

WC-ALL

Students enrolled in current semester only; borrower’s name must appear on WC-ALL student list; may borrow two books for three weeks; no annual fee

Students in participating MICUA institutions*

Students must complete a registration form and show valid ID from a MICUA institution*; free borrower’s card issued until end of current semester; may borrow four books for six weeks

High School students

Students in 11th and 12th grades attending Kent County High School must present a letter from their high school librarian requesting that we extend borrowing privileges; must complete registration form; no annual fee; card is valid until end of WC semester; may borrow two books for three weeks

*  Institutions include Goucher, Hood, Capitol, Loyola/Notre Dame, Maryland Institute of Art, Mt. Saint Mary, Stevenson University, Washington Adventist University
