French studies at Washington College can give you the skills you need to be part of this emerging global community.


What you’ll learn:

See the world from the new perspective of a different language. Develop a profound understanding of the culture of the French and Francophone world. Learn to navigate across cross-cultural lines.

What you’ll do: 

Experience France and Francophonie on campus. Speak French at our weekly coffee hours. Live, sleep, and dream in French in the French Language Suite. Explore culinary culture of France and Francophonie. Share your knowledge with your friends in the community.  

Where you’ll go:

With our exchange programs in Grenoble and Arras, France and our newly developed internship semester in Senegal, you can develop the knowledge you learned in class in real life settings. Pursue internships that place you in the best position for career options after graduation.
